None indicated Hardback. Octavo, Green cloth with minor extremity wear. Jacket is worn with 1 inch chips at spine ends, other minor chipping and edge tears; quite worn at folds with front fold worn through for 4 inches. Owner name ffep dated 1920. Still a nearly complete jacket with a bright decorated book cover with clean paste down illustration. Apparently first published thus by Burt, and, at least, a very early printing with nice black and white engravings in addition to the Davis color frontis (repeated on jacket). Reprint Hardback 12mo, about six inches tall, in pictorial blue cloth. 182 pages illustrated by Sendak drawings. Both the endpapers, the spine title and the title page refer to "Cadmus Books", and the title page has a notice that this edition was published by arrangement with Harper & Brothers, "the publishers of the regular edition". This may be a reinforced library binding farmed out the another company, but there are no library marks. A clean copy with a gift note on the half title. Osa Johnson and her husband Martin were perhaps the best known explorers of Africa during the 1920s and 30s. About as nice a copy as you'll see with barely a hint of extremity wear to the book and no chips, no tears, nor any wear at all to the crisp and bright jacket. Nice copy of a sweet book published in "London and New York" although this one carries a price in dollars on the top front flap, and the bottom of the flap is clipped. The book is clean, bright and soundly bound with very light wear to the extremities. The jacket has mild soiling and a couple of very short edge tears.
